Music #1: Summer Playlist

From where I stand, rainy season has now commenced but only a month ago, the heat was unbearable for it was the summer season. Summer is my kind of season; sun-kissed skin without meaning to get a tan, flip flops and walking shorts under the cloudy pale blue sky beneath the shore, the usual scene. But what I love about this season is the endless escapades. Daily adventures, and what good way to remember them is by making my own summer playlist and listening to it whenever I want to reminisce the good times I basked under the sun.

1. Paradise by Cody Simpson

You can really tell by the title that it is a summer song, and judging by the personality of Cody Simpson and the place he's from, summer felt like a normal thing, an everyday habit. Australia is famous for being a surfer's paradise. Just by listening to the song, you could imagine basking under the sun getting that tan you've been dreaming for a while.

It's like a summer breeze

2. Mine by Taylor Swift

What I really love the most about Taylor Swift's songs are that they are composed from a guitar and I just love the sweet sound guitars make. And if you have seen Mine's music video, it has a bit of a summer feel to it. 

The song talks about young love, and I just dream about my own imaginary love life just by listening to this song.

3. Feelings Show by Colbie Caillat

Apparently this is not a single, and it is a track from Colbie Caillat's album Coco. I really think that a song's intro is very crucial to a listener, well maybe not, but for me it is, and I just love the summer feel of the intro of this song. The pronounced strum of the guitar partnered with a light beat alongside the beautiful cool voice of Colbie just rocked it off. 

It makes me want to just smile and pretend I am in a music video. LOL.

4. I'm Yours by Jason Mraz

By now, you must have realized how much this playlist comprised of songs that have an acoustic feel to it. Well, my perception of summer music is played on an acoustic guitar, since I'm actually living in a tropical country and the acoustic guitar is pretty much famous, especially during summers.

"Well open up your mind and see like me

Open up your plans and then you're free

Look into your heart and you'll find love love love love"

5. A Song About Love by Lee Dewyze

This song is a track from Lee Dewyze's album Live It Up, probably this was his first, I can't quite remember. So anyways, the song is not actually upbeat, it's more of an acoustic ballad. But still, not every part of summer will be full of laughter and happiness, some days will be dark.

And to savor the rainy summers of life, I've added this song to the summer playlist.

"You told me you love me and I try to move on

6. 93 Million Miles by Jason Mraz

I love listening to this song every time I am bound for home from a hard day's work at school last summer. I dumbly smile as the wind blows in my hair and pretend I am in a music video. Haha.

7. Catching Feelings by Justin Bieber

This doesn't necessarily mean I'm a Belieber though, haha. But yeah, I love his songs, and I love his acoustic voice that I wish they'd stop tweaking it on the studio version.

I love the intro of this song, it reminds me of a hammock tied to coconut trees under a blue sky.

8. Be The One by Cody Simpson

This is the total summer album, really.

9. Some Nights by Fun

Something different, this song reminds me of a jungle somewhere what with the melodious drum beating.

I try twice as hard and I'm half as liked,
But here they come again to jack my style"

10. Live While We're Young by One Direction

Yes, I'm a Directioner and I didn't put this song on my playlist just because I love Niall, or Liam, or Zayn, or Harry, or Louis. Anyways, the music video says all the things I wanted to do on a summer's day, play water guns, football at night, swim in a pool with my clothes on, the works.

11. On Top of the World by Imagine Dragons

My morning song. I just love waking up to this song, that's why it's my alarm clock music.

12. Summer Shade by Cody Simpson

This song just makes me feel I'm in love with some guy in the beach, please make it be Cody.

13. 22 by Taylor Swift

I can't wait to be 22 and dress-up like a hipster. LOL. I just love the feel of the song and the music video too.

14.  Good Time by Owl City feat. Carly Rae Jepsen

The art cover says it all, and the music video, and the message of the song.

15. Fall by Justin Bieber

Summertime love songs.
