Puberty and Teenage Pop Singers

Rediscovered Cody Simpson again and what can I say? Since 'Iyiyi', his voice has gotten better with his recent songs. From a girly, high voice, Cody's voice in 'Wish You Were Here' and 'On My Mind' transformed to a manly, smooth popstar-ish quality. Looking at him now and then reminded me of novel protagonists with blonde hair, such as Jace Herondale of Cassandra Clare's The Mortal Instruments but I have no objections whatsoever with Jamie Campbell Bower as the blonde and golden-eyed badass Shadowhunter.

Because I really thing he looks good. Got this pic from http://www.fanpop.com/clubs/cody-simpson/images/27901780/title/cody-143-photo
Another famous teen pop star who had undergone afflictive criticism was no other than Justin Bieber. I'm not saying I am a Belieber, cause I'm not really though I do listen to his songs, I'm just not a fan girl anymore as to compared to four years ago when he had that full hairstyle with bangs and when he was less much a boy who cared of fame. Anyhow, so yeah, from a very feminine and high-pitched voice in 'One Time', his voice slowly evolved to have a deeper ring to it in 'Baby' then has gotten much deeper in 'Pray' and other songs in his acoustic album. Much more was changed in his new album 'Believe' but the voice only made him more appealing than he was way back.

After my Justin Bieber craze, the next big Western thing for me was One Direction and who else had undergone the same growing pains of puberty? Of course, none other than Harry Styles! During the X Factor and their first year in the industry, the curly-haired boy's voice was normally male and mind you he was not yet even eighteen at the time. After a few tours, the boys started to record for their second album and upon the release of their first single 'Live While We're Young' on Youtube, I was awestruck at the drastic change in the pitch of his voice; it was freakin' bass. More of it was heard in their second single 'Little Things' which I barely recognized it was him singing that part in the lyric video.

Amidst the constant change in their voices, I still love each one of them with varying degrees. Puberty surely has been good to these men not only with their voices but also to their stunning good looks and I pray for them to succeed in their careers as the years progress. Time to hit the books! xx
